Hana Galiová Author Hana Galiová
Big event - a dance festival and exposition DANCE LIFE EXPO 2013 takes place in Brno next weekend. You are one of the stars of this festival and you also already participated in this event last year.

How would you describe the festival DLE?
It is a great dance event were people have a huge chance to see, feel and taste the quality and the present of the dance world life here in Brno, Czech Republic.
A wonderful possibility to discover a  diversity of dance techniques, performances, projects, dance projections, conferences, etc.… that´s what the festival is offering.

Could you tell us something about your dance style and about the focus of the workshops you lead?
I can tell you that what I´m doing is not based on just one method. It´s a combination of many styles and emotions I had a chance to experiment with as a dancer throughout my career, and also a bit of my own creations. Mostly it is focused to take the dance as a "dance" and not as a training only.
Currently, I work as a teacher, assistant of few choreographies of Ballet Prague Junior and leading a dance company named Baby Ballet Prague at Taneční centrum Praha-Konzervatoř.

How about the atmosphere at the workshops? Is it different at the festival than at the workshops which take place at other places?
The atmosphere is very positive, exciting and inspiring. There are big expectations.
In my opinion, most of the people who are taking part at the workshops, are used to work in one direction, style or objective. The festival offers them a special occasion to try something different what they didn´t try before. New and refreshing experience for sure
That is one of the curiosities and interesting things the festival offers.

Who do you think is the common visitor of the festival?
In essence, all the people who are connected in some way with the dance world: professional dancers, beginners, teachers, choreographers, producers, directors, etc. or people who really love dance.

Would you recommend a visit there?
Absolutely yes. Simply for the reason that it´s a unique opportunity to find out many kinds of new experiences which are not easily found in Central Europe at the same place.

What do you think is worth seeing?
Everything you can, because just like that you will be able to have a solid opinion about what you really like, and what you want to do.

And the last question - I suppose your name is quite complicated to pronounce for Czech people. How do they usually call you?  Have you got any nickname?
It´s a Basque name, and even in Spain I sometimes have the same problem. Usually they call me Agur (to make it easier).
