Letní Letná festival presents international guest artists
News
„Limbo directed by Scott Maidment will take us to the gloomy underground ruled by top acrobatics, incredible physical performances and heart-stopping illusions,” says the director of the festival Jiří Turek. On the round stage, placed amidst the audience, appears an ensemble of artists from Montreal, New York, Marseille and Australia – the sword swallower Heather Holliday, acrobat on bars, beatboxer and clown Mikael Bres, acrobatic dancer Hilton Denis, aerial acrobat Evelyne Allard, hand-stand acrobat Danik Abishev and contortionist Aurelien Oudot. „The vital part of the performance is live music full of wild tunes, electro-acoustic sounds and playful rhythms,” adds Jiří Turek.
Limbo featured at the Adelaide Fringe festival in 2013 where it was awarded several prizes and it guested at such events as London Wonderground Festival (2013-14), Edinburgh Christmas Festival (2013), Sydney Festival (2014-15), Festival de Teatro Bogota (2014), Aalborg Spiegeltent Festival (2014), Brisbane Festival (2014), Tollwood Winter Festival, Munich (2014), Auckland Festival (2015) and Kermezzo(o) Brussels (2015).
Besides the above-mentioned international shows, Letní Letná will offer late-August premieres by several Czech companies, free open air performances, children’s performances four times a day, art and circus workshops or chill-outs in a café changing in to a vibrant bar every night.
Letní Letná has been honoured by the EFFE Label 2015-2016 - Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe, initiated by the European Festivals Association. Festivals from 31 European countries (the complete list is available at www.effe.eu) were selected for this label based on evaluation of experts and international jury.

Thank you for your thoughts. One got stuck in my mind – that passion makes us different from AI. Just yesterday I read…I am a dance critic. I am a member of an endangered species
