21. Medzinárodný festival pantomímy a pohybového divadla PAN 2014

"PANtastický festival pantomímy"

Streda 26. až sobota 29. novembra 2014

Dvadsiaty prvý krát sa pod strechou Domu kultúry v Liptovskom Mikuláši stretnú ľudia v pohybe a umenie bez zbytočných slov. Spoločne sa v tichom umeleckom súznení ocitnú organizátori, domáce Štúdio pantomímy, dobrovoľníci a samozrejme v nemom  úžase nadšení diváci. Hostia na javiskách predvedú nevšedné výkony. V stredu večer podujatie otvára tradičná „MIMshow“ slovenského míma Miroslava Kasprzyka s prekvapením. Štvrtok nazrieme klasicky do Čiech. Hrá Serena Balivo z Piccola Compagnia Dammacco. Záver festivalu v sobotu večer patrí výbornej poľskej pantomíme. Warszawskie Centrum Pantomimy a mím Bartlomiej Ostapczuk s kolegami, zahrajú „Etudy“.

Since it was set up, the Montpellier Dance Festival has been a key event for top choreographers and dancers throughout the world. Over a thousand companies have performed at this festival in Montpellier bringing prestige and excitement with them - it has become one of the city's major cultural events. Every year, the festival programme is broken into three phases: two performance seasons (spring and autumn) and a summer festival.

This festival's success is in part due to the intelligent combination of cutting-edge choreographic research and in part due to the open-mindedness of both the artists and of audiences.

Biennale College - Dance 2014

As of last year, La Biennale di Venezia has renewed its mission in all of its fields. In addition to its work to promote knowledge among the general public (Exhibitions, Festivals) it has introduced a strategic programme to train young artists. Known as the Biennale College, this programme is already underway in the fields of Dance, Music, Theatre, and Cinema. To encourage young talents, offering them the opportunity to work side by side with the masters to develop “creations”: this is the spirit of the Biennale College, a well-appointed bridge that allows young people who wish to engage in one of the arts to do so in the finest conditions that an international institution can offer .

For the year 2014, Biennale College will pursue an increasingly intense integration between all of its disciplines, with the promotion of inter-sectorial projects. Thus the performing arts sectors – Dance, Music, Theatre, Cinema – will hold some of their activities in the spaces of the Corderie dell’Arsenale, stimulated in their engagement by the 14th International Architecture Exhibition.

Biennale College Dance 2014 is open to dancers between the ages of 18 and 35 with consolidated experience in the techniques of contemporary dance.
The project will include an educational and training programme with contemporary dance teachers, and the formation of groups composed of dancers led by a guest choreographer. These are courses leading to the creation of short choreographic works to be presented as part of the 9th International Festival of Contemporary Dance of the Biennale di Venezia.
All the original creations will be the result of the residency of choreographers and dancers in Venice.
The activities to be held at the Arsenale will have their own rules which will be announced in due time.

The schedule will include:
mornings: classes in contemporary technique
afternoons: the creative phase with the choreographer.

Choreographers : Roy Assaf, Jerome Bel, Michele di Stefano, Iris Erez, Anton Lachky, Cristina Rizzo, Alessandro Sciarroni,  David Zambrano,

RULES OF PARTICIPATION

The applicants for selection may choose only one course/guest choreographer; they must register on the Biennale website www.labiennale.org/en/dance/collegedance/ and submit the following material:

2. Letter of Motivation
3. A video (with link for viewing) that documents the work of the dancers (no longer than 5 minutes)

Application deadline for the selection

The material containing the documentation in digital format must be submitted no later than March 18th, 2014.

Movimentos – Festival Week in Wolfsburg 2014

April 22 – June 1 2014

The Autostadt presented the first Movimentos Festival in spring 2003. Originally conceived as a contemporary dance festival, the series of performances represents a commitment to a universal art form. Dance is a fundamental expression of human movement. “When a spark of inspiration flows from the stage to the audience, we have achieved our goal”, explains Movimentos Artistic Director, Dr. Maria Schneider. The programme of events gradually evolved to include classical, jazz and pop concerts, theatre, staged readings and discussions.

What started out as a series of dance performances evolved to become one of Germany's leading cultural events in 2006 when lectures, discussions, matinees, concerts, and dramatic readings were added to the Movimentos program. Along with a diversity of dance performances, the festival lineup included some of Germany's top stage and screen stars.

Mezinárodní festival mimického divadla „MY MIME“

16.-18. 5.2014

První ročník mezinárodního festivalu mimického divadla „MY MIME“ se uskuteční 16.

Jde o významnou interkulturní spolupráci mezi důležitými centry mimického divadla v Polsku (Warsaw Mime Centre),  v České Republice (Katedra Pantomimy–HAMU, Praha) a v Německu (Die Etage / Schule der darstellenden Künste).

Herr Niels, K. Franz, S. Linne, G. Frischling (Mission Mimepossible!/Berlin), Do-Theater ( Petrohrad/Aachen ) a Bodecker&Neander (Berlin) a jazzová kapela Roger Dodger Band (D/CZ/ESP/URY).

Jedním z vrcholů bude jistě také „MY MIME in Town“,  tzv. Mime-Parade , kdy mladí mimové všech účastnických zemí pod vedením R. Horáka ( CZ ) zaplaví a promění centrum Berlína.

IETM Asian Satellite Meeting, Melbourne, Australia

9 - 14 May '14

A gathering of contemporary performing arts professionals and artists from across the Asian region and those in Europe collaborating with Asia, to create a network for future projects, see shows in the Next Wave festival and meet artists involved in the Arts Centre Melbourne's Asia-Australia Laboratory. An intensive immersion in the region for those interested in co-producing, collaborating and exchanging all performing art forms.

Background Information

Australia Council, IETM, Next Wave and Arts Centre Melbourne are partnering to produce the IETM Asian Satellite Meeting in Melbourne from 12-14 May 2014.

IETM is the leading international network for the contemporary performing arts. With over 500 members in 50 countries, its core business is to meet twice annually in Europe. In addition to these large meetings, smaller satellite meetings are held outside Europe in regions of strategic importance.

Australia is delighted to host the 2014 Asian Satellite for IETM, bringing together a focused group of contemporary performing arts professionals from Australia, Europe and Asia to network and exchange ideas for collaboration and coproduction between the regions.

The meeting will be preceded by the final weekend of the Next Wave festival and delegates are encouraged to arrive in Melbourne to be able to start the performance itinerary on the morning of Saturday 10 May through Sunday 11 May, alongside their international peers.

The meeting is held in the context of Arts Centre Melbourne's Asian Performing Arts Program. Twelve Asian artists will be collaborating with their Australian peers in a creative laboratory in Melbourne in the days immediately preceding and following the Satellite. They will be involved in the discussions at the Satellite and will be supported by funders, presenters, producers and other artists from the region, all available to meet over the three days of the Satellite.

With a maximum attendance of 150, and a balanced mix of Europeans, Asians and Australians, the aim of the Satellite is to connect to existing networks in Asia and Europe, seed new partnerships and collaborations and leave those attending with a strong set of connections for future project development.

10 Years Lucky Trimmer Best of, Berlin

5 & 6 April 2014

Coming to existence in 2004, LUCKY TRIMMER will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary this upcoming year.

Many ideas have been floating around the LUCKY headquarters on how to commemorate this very special event with style. Needless to say that the LUCKY Team would not miss the chance to organize a little something out of the ordinary for this birthday.  We are proud to have been able to navigate our ship of ideas through choppy waters for a decade with unshakable enthusiasm, offering a platform to more than 150 artists and leaving lasting impressions on an ever growing audience. Both the lightness of entertainment and the awe of challenging artistic quality have characterized the LUCKY TRIMMER Tanz Performance Serie since its inception. Therefore, what better way to celebrate LUCKY TRIMMER´s success than rejoicing in some of its most acclaimed pieces of the last 10 years?

“10 Years LUCKY TRIMMER Best Of” promises to capture our hearts and minds once more and steal our breath all over again in April, 2014. If you have fallen in love with one (or more) of our LUCKY pieces and believe that it must be featured in the “Best Of” show, raise your voice and leave us a comment now!

In 2014 the LUCKY TRIMMER Birthday coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. To immortalize these two outstanding historical events, LUCKY TRIMMER will curate a special program entitled: “The Wall”. For the first time in the LUCKY History we ask artists to create a 10 minute max piece on a specific topic. This program is co-produced by the MACHOL SHALEM Dance House and willpremiere in Berlin in October/November 2014 with additional shows in Jerusalem (International Dance Week 2014) and New York (Abrons Arts Center) in November/December 2014.

CINEDANS - Dance on Screen Festival

12 - 16 March 2014
EYE, Amsterdam

Cinedans – Dance on Screen Festival is unique – in the Netherlands and in the world. The central focus of the festival is on dance film. Cinedans sees the ideal dance film as a true synthesis between the two media of dance and cinematography. At Cinedans the emphasis lies on choreographies created specifically for the camera and on special film adaptations of existing dance performances.

The festival also features a selection of special documentaries and retrospectives. Approximately 70 films from all over the world will be screened at this year’s festival. In addition to the film programme, Cinedans festival organises readings, panels and presents installations throughout the EYE.

In the ever-changing media landscape, creators are increasingly seeking different ways to tell their stories. New media and modern technology have entered the scene bringing new possibilities and insights. Dance film is no longer ‘movement on the black screen’, with new forms being developed such as installations, video clips, interactive projects and more. Contemporary dance films are often autonomous art works with a language of their own and an expressiveness that cannot be pigeonholed. Cinedans closely follows these movements. In addition to the film programme, the festival focuses on various forms of crossover projects and media installations that involve movement.
