Freda Fiala studied Theater-, Film- and Media Studies, as well as Chinese Studies in Vienna, Berlin, Hong Kong and Taipei. She is a fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and currently pursues her PhD at University of Vienna, where she writes and researches on contemporary theatre and performance practices in the Sinophone region, with a special focus on interculturalism and cultural diplomacy as artistic methods.
