Panel Discussion #3 Reflections on Dance Writing
On April 24, 2022, an open panel discussion called Reflections on Dance Writing was held in Prague as part of the project Dance and Performing Arts Criticism in Europe. Moderator Lucie Hayashi invited five dance critics and critical writing lecturers, among the guests were Sanjoy Roy, Emily May, Anette Therese Pettersen, Hild Borchgrevink and Petra Dotlačilová. They altogether talked about the position of the dance critic in Europe. For example, what are the conditions, obstacles, and joys of writing about dance and what does theoretical reflection bring to the development of dance art were discussed. The debate was also transmitted in the form of an online stream.
