Workshop #4 Playing Dance Writing
On October 20 - 22, 2022, Taneční aktuality and Performing Arts Hub Norway organized a playful journalistic workshop Playing Dance Writing as part of the project Dance and Performing Arts Criticism in Europe. It took place at the Octoberdans 2022 festival in Bergen, Norway.
Four publicists from all over Europe were selected from more than fifty applicants: Robin Lamonthe from France, Elisa Frasson originally from Italy, Indian Parvathi Ramanathan working in Germany and Marina Srnka from Serbia. The line-up was completed by local dance critic Rania Broud.
Lecturers Lucie Hayashi and Petra Dotlačilová revealed to the participants the possibilities and methods of a playful and creative approach to writing reflections on dance and movement performances, which the participants applied when creating their own texts reacting to the seen performances presented at the festival. The outputs are published here.
